Upton Hall, Episcopal Diocese of Kansas

835 SW Polk | Topeka, Kansas

Now known as Upton Hall, the renovation of this historical house on the campus of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas provided a much needed extended stay facility for the KSM Leadership training program.

The project included a complete remodel of the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, dining and meeting spaces, and was made ADA accessible. To enhance the comfort and safety of the leadership trainees on their overnight stays, the building was provided with a fire sprinkler and fire alarm system, new HVAC equipment, and new lighting. In order for the Diocese to receive historical tax credits, Mar Lan worked closely with Diocese personnel and Junk Architects to insure compliance with all Topeka Landmarks Commission historical requirements, including the strict requirements for the window and roof replacements.
