BG Consultants Building 1405 Wakarusa Drive Lawrence, Kansas This custom-built 12,000 square foot building is located in Oread West Office Park in Lawrence. It was designed by the Owner, an engineeringarchitectural firm with offices in Lawrence, Manhattan, Hutchinson, and Emporia. When designing the interior of the building, the Owners allowed for individual executive offices as well as a large open production area, a surveyor's office, conference room, library, kitchen and break room area -- all on the main level. The lower level whose entrance is shown in the photographs to the left, was designed as future tenant space. Mar Lan Construction finished the space for Kan-REN, Kansas Research & Education Network, in May 2004. Exterior finishes include a brick veneer with cast stone architectural elements highlighting the building's brick "pillars". The exterior design elements harmonize perfectly with the other office buildings in the Oread West Office Park.
