Googols of Fun Edutainment Center
Wakarusa Crossroads Shopping Center
4931 W. 6th, Ste. 118
Lawrence, Kansas

This tenant finish was an unusual project in it's scope and execution. It involved finishing approximately 11,000 square feet for a children's amusement/education center.

The space chosen for the center was a highly-coveted area in the Wakarusa Crossroads Shopping Center directly under the landmark arches and clock tower.

The large interior allowed the owners to divide the space into a reception hall, customer service and token redemption center, a large private party room with accordion doors installed to be able to divide the space into three private party rooms, an Internet games room, a children's museum with rotating exhibits, an arcade, an arts & crafts corral, a climbing structure, and a large toddler room designed especially for younger children. The owners provided a snack bar with a food prep area and dining space. The administrative offices and storage areas were also figured into the large space.

Laminate clad cabinetry was used extensively throughout the space, including glass and laminate display cases at the customer service token redemption area. Shorter kid-sized walls were built to surround several areas. Ductwork was left exposed to give the area an industrial nod. The climbing structure was built in place and couldn't fit the space more perfectly.
