G2, LC Professional Office Building 5100 W. 15th Street Lawrence, Kansas This project consisted of three parts: the shell building, tenant finish for Advanced Dental Studio, and tenant finish for Dr. Larry Gaston, DPM. All three projects were accomplished during the same time period. The shell building's exterior design elements of corrugated metal and stucco make an unusual but visually pleasing statement. The exterior is punctuated with square window openings. Building on the lot was challenging due to the steep terrain. Carefully placed landscape boulders are arranged along the ascending, curved drive leading to the front entrance. Toward the rear of the lot, a grove of pines and cedars gives the impression of an expansive wooded area just a step beyond the door. One important criteria was to create a warm, natural, and nurturing environment for their patients as well as other visitors. A lot of thought went into the placement of the building on the lot to allow for views of the wooded area from within the patient treatment areas.
