KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY – LIBRARY STORAGE FACILITY
Manhattan, Kansas

This project consisted of the renovation of an existing 20,000 square foot warehouse and 4,000 square foot office space, and the construction of a single-story 3,000 square foot receiving and mechanical room addition. It also included various site improvements.

The renovated and expanded building is provided with high-density rack storage for up to 1.25 million volumes of library print materials. The storage area required strict temperature and humidity control for optimum storage of the stored materials. The existing building roof and wall structures required insulation supplemented with additional thermal and moisture protection to accommodate the new strict environment.
